Making Room for the Brokenhearted

In 2026, Haven Professional Counseling will continue to offer our traditional insurance based, hour long, outpatient counseling services. In addition, we are moving toward making room for what we feel will be even more effective in facilitating deep healing and change....intensives and retreats for you and your family.

Restoration and Revival is coming through the family in the years ahead. For far too long, we have tolerated and allowed things to go on in families while we've turned away from it because we couldn't handle seeing it.

We couldn't handle thinking that maybe what someone was telling us was true. We've only believed what we could see on the surface, through the masks, and image management and we've allowed destruction to happen to not only children, but adults, as we've turned a blind eye in the name of "we don't see it that way."

At Haven Professional Counseling, we see it. We've experienced it first hand, and we've made space to sit in it and hold space for the deep hurt and destruction going on in lives, especially families.

God is now calling us to step out on a dream that started in the early 2000s, regardless of the fact that we don't have the dream retreat center built. He is calling us to use the space that He provided, and make even more room for the brokenhearted, the unseen, the ones suffering in silence and being terribly misunderstood.

He has called us to provide a space where they have a voice, learn how to set boundaries, learn how to stand again, where the past no longer defines them and they can move forward in health and wholeness. A space, on the farm, in nature, with animals where they can experience healing and wholeness, where children can get dirty and learn how to play, where deep authentic, lasting relationships are built, where we heal in community, around the table, together, regardless of who we are or where we've walked.

Through my own personal healing journey, it has been during intensives and retreats and within God ordained relationships where He provided women with the heart for walking alongside me, Christi and Laurie led, and He brought other women in those experiences that would walk alongside me in the years ahead. He brought other relationships from long ago full circle, who would also walk alongside me. God met me in my brokenness, my heart was broken wide open, and I learned how to breathe again....

Through those experiences, I found my way back to a truer form of myself and who God has made me to be, and what He has called me to do. Now it's time that we took creating that space for families from the original call full circle and begin walking it out alongside of them.

In a dream that started while I was teaching middle school World History, 2026 will be the year where we make space for children and families and those who have walked in the hardest of places. We will partner with our network that God has built for 20+ years to address every aspect of your mental health and wellness. Amazing clinicians from many disciplines who have walked in hard spaces like us and have hearts prepared to sit with the brokenhearted and walk alongside them for deep healing.

As we launch out, there are those who desperately need the space to heal, but don't have the means to sign up for what we are offering. We have created two ways you can help: our gift cards will pay it forward for someone who needs this experience and space.
